Verneen Hill-Cream: The Resilient Canvas of a Self-Taught Artist
For Verneen Hill, art is not just what she does—it is how she survives and thrives. Born in Pleasantville, NJ, Verneen’s artistic pulse began at age six under the watchful eye of her grandmother. After years spent in California and Georgia, Verneen’s life took a turn that led her to rediscover the healing power of her craft as a vital form of personal therapy.
Following a struggle with chronic illness and the unimaginable loss of her daughter, Bree, Verneen turned her pain into a "Butterfly Effect." She launched Officially Inside Out, a gallery concept that reflects her heart, her transparency, and her belief in life after loss.
A Global Journey of Color and Texture From being the featured local artist for the Atlantic City Boxing Hall of Fame to headlining for RAW in Los Angeles and exhibiting at Miami’s prestigious Art Basel, Verneen’s work has reached thousands. Her style is immersive and tactile, specializing in:

-
Art Therapy & Fine Arts
-
3D Mixed Media & Abstract Expressionism
-
Non-Traditional Interactive Murals

The Butterfly Project Foundation, Inc. Verneen’s most significant contribution has evolved from a public art initiative into a formal mission of service. What began as 29 butterflies distributed throughout Middle Georgia has now transitioned into the Butterfly Project Foundation, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
As the Founder and President, Verneen uses the Foundation to provide hope for grieving parents and to act as a "beacon of light" for mental health and suicide awareness. With over 6,147 pieces created to date, her work serves as a constant reminder that the world is deeply interconnected—and that one small act of healing can influence a much larger system of hope.
Now back home in New Jersey, Verneen and the Butterfly Project Foundation are dedicated to proving that beauty can be born from the most fragile moments of our lives.
